If yours is not here, send it over and we will answer it, and probably add it to this page.
A community that brings adults together through dance classes, craft sessions, tabletop games, outdoor activities and socials. Most of it is free to attend, and you do not need to know anybody to come along.
All of our classes and events are open to adults 18 and over, and we do not have an upper age limit. While much of our regular community tends to fall in the 25 to 35 range, what matters most to us is mindset and intention, not age.
If you enjoy meeting new people, are open to connecting, and respect the space we are building, you are absolutely welcome here.
We like to be transparent about the general age range so folks know what to expect, but we have had wonderful people from many different walks of life join us and feel right at home.
No. We are open to everyone regardless of relationship status, and there is no expectation of dating at our events. Connections happen naturally and that is fine, but behaviour that makes somebody uncomfortable is not, and we act on it.
Most are at our club space at 2309 Springlake Rd, Suite 600, Farmers Branch, TX 75234, which is 4,720 square feet. Walks, hikes and some socials happen at parks, restaurants and other venues around the metroplex. The calendar entry for each event says where it is.
Yes, free, and plenty of it within a short walk of the door.
Use the contact page, which reaches us fastest. You can also catch us at any event, or message us on Discord.
The event calendar is the one that is always right. We also post on Discord and social media, but the calendar is where things are booked.
It depends. To host an official event we need to know the potential host or lead pretty well, see consistent involvement in the community, and see how they interact with others in difficult situations.
DFW Young & Social is a formal organisation, so every host, instructor and lead is effectively representing the company. We take that seriously, because one bad egg can cause long term problems and put the whole group at risk.
We always appreciate and welcome support at any of our free social events. Come 30 to 60 minutes early and help with table setup and the other things that need doing before we start.
For larger events we put a call out in our Discord for volunteers to give us a hand.
Of course. We welcome collaboration at any level, though to be transparent we rarely partner with anybody. A partner needs to line up with the same values and vision we have as a community.
More often than not, people are looking for advertising rather than community sponsorship. There is nothing wrong with that, it is just not something we do, because we will not have our members feel like customers to be sold to.
No. Memberships are optional and most of the calendar is free. Everything about pricing and memberships is on its own page.
No. We do need a name and an email for whoever buys or registers for anything, but you can check out as a guest without making an account first.
You do need an account to use credits or membership benefits.
A fee on top of the ticket for any paid booking. It covers card processing and the systems behind the calendar, the seats and the receipts. It is shown separately rather than folded into the price, and it is the one part of a booking that is not refunded. Donations carry no fee.
Credits are one balance that spends on anything we charge for, and each event is worth a number of credits that follows its price. A pack lasts 180 days from the day you buy it. See pricing and memberships.
You can cancel from your account up to 48 hours before an event. More than five days ahead the ticket price goes back to your card; between two and five days it comes back as account credit; inside 48 hours there is no refund. The 9% fee is not refunded in any of those cases. The full policy is on pricing and memberships.
You get the whole amount back, fee included, or credit if you would rather.
Yes, whenever you like. It runs to the end of the month you have paid for. There is no cancellation fee.
Yes. Message us and we will set it up.
Not for a beginner class or for any of the socials, crafts or games. A few dance classes are levelled and say so on the event entry.
No. Group classes rotate partners so everybody dances with different people, and a lot of people come on their own. Couples who prefer to stay together can.
Something you can move in, and shoes with a smooth sole so you can turn. Avoid heavy tread, flip flops and stilettos. Dance shoes are nice to have and not required.
No, materials are provided. Bring anything special you want to work with.
Aim for the check-in window, which is the 15 minutes before a class starts. It means you are not catching up from behind, and there is time to say hello to people. If you are late you are still welcome to join in.
Yes, one to two people, small groups, or a private group class at a time that suits you. Private lessons has the detail.
Yes. Anybody is welcome at any event, and there is no fee for bringing somebody. They book the same way you do.
Not at the club space. For hikes, walks and anything at another venue, the park or the restaurant sets the rule, and anybody who brings a pet is responsible for it.
Not at the moment. Everything we run is 18 and over.
Outdoor events either move indoors nearby or move to another date. The calendar entry and Discord are where the change is announced.
The club space is covered by video recording at all times, and everybody attending agrees to a code of conduct. If somebody makes you uncomfortable, tell whoever is on the door or message us. We would rather hear about it.
Talk to one of the owners. Most things are resolved with a conversation, and anything serious is dealt with directly and privately by us.
Send it over. We usually reply within a day.
