Trivia, open karaoke, and food that everybody brings to share with one another. Taking part in the activities is optional, but you are asked to bring a dish, a drink or a snack to share. Store bought or homemade, either is fine.

My world has always revolved around making real connections: building teamwork at Southwest Airlines, mentoring leaders at Ericsson, and now running DFW Young & Social. My compass is simple, reduce harm, create joy, look after the people I can reach. If you are here, you are welcome. Come for a meal, a dance, or a conversation that makes the day lighter.

How the evening runs

The evening opens with trivia, which is where most of it starts, then moves into open YouTube karaoke for the rest of the night. Now and then we swap the trivia for something else, such as music bingo or a PowerPoint party, and when we do it is called out on the calendar entry.

Throughout, the event doubles as a potluck. People come to play, sing a song or two, share food and spend time together. Many move in and out of the activities as the evening goes on.

Bringing something
  • A dish or a drink to share. Homemade and shop-bought are both welcome
  • If you arrive without something, there are shops nearby and you are welcome to step out
  • Enough for a few people rather than the whole room

Everything here is free to attend, and donations are what keep it that way. They cover the space, the supplies and the running costs, and they let us add new free programming rather than charging for it.
