My world has always revolved around making real connections: building teamwork at Southwest Airlines, mentoring leaders at Ericsson, and now running DFW Young & Social. My compass is simple, reduce harm, create joy, look after the people I can reach. If you are here, you are welcome. Come for a meal, a dance, or a conversation that makes the day lighter.

What the work involves

Tasks vary each month depending on the weather, seasonal priorities and ongoing conservation projects. They may include habitat restoration, nursery work, trail upkeep, planting native grasses or removing invasive growth.

Whatever the task, volunteers are contributing directly to the health of a protected natural area. Come prepared for outdoor, hands-on work.

What to bring
  • Water. We bring some, but supplies may be limited
  • Bug spray and sunscreen
  • Work gloves, leather if you have them
  • Comfortable outdoor shoes or boots
  • Clothes you don't mind getting dirty
  • A hat, and hair ties if they help
  • Jeans or thicker trousers, not yoga pants or shorts

This volunteer day is free to join. Donations help cover the sunscreen, bug spray, water and other supplies volunteers get through, and support the work of organising volunteer programming.
