About the Style
Cha Cha emerged in the early 1950s from the Cuban Mambo, distinguished by a syncopated triple step that creates its signature "cha-cha-cha" rhythm. It spread internationally through ballroom competitions and quickly became one of the most recognized Latin dances in the world.
At DFW Young & Social Club, we teach American Rhythm Cha Cha, playful, hip-driven, and built for social dancing. The basic pattern is straightforward, but the styling and partner connection make it endlessly fun to explore.

Alexi is our lead instructor, trained in more than 25 dance styles, with Master Instructor credentials in many of them and Grand Master status in several. She has been teaching professionally since 2016 and has taught thousands of people. Whatever your level, she teaches to how you learn rather than to a syllabus, and she is at her best with people who have never danced before.
