About the Style
Country Waltz is a relaxed, flowing take on the classic ballroom Waltz, adapted for the country music that fills Texas dance halls and honky-tonks. Danced in 3/4 time with the same rise-and-fall quality as its ballroom cousin, Country Waltz has a more casual, natural feel, perfect for slow, heartfelt country songs.
At DFW Young & Social Club, we teach Country Waltz as both a standalone style and a complement to Two-Step for anyone building their country dance toolkit. The timing is easy to pick up, the movements feel natural, and the slow tempo gives plenty of room to focus on connection and musicality.

Alexi is our lead instructor, trained in more than 25 dance styles, with Master Instructor credentials in many of them and Grand Master status in several. She has been teaching professionally since 2016 and has taught thousands of people. Whatever your level, she teaches to how you learn rather than to a syllabus, and she is at her best with people who have never danced before.
