Country Swing is one of the most energetic and expressive dances you'll find on a Texas country dance floor, a high-energy partner dance featuring big turns, dips, and creative footwork, all set to upbeat country music. It draws from East Coast Swing, West Coast Swing, and traditional country dance styles, blending them into something uniquely Texan.
At DFW Young & Social Club, we teach Country Swing with a focus on the flashy elements that make it so fun to watch and do, spins, dips, the duck-under, and the kind of spontaneous creativity that comes from a solid foundation in leading and following.
Country Swing is a crowd-stopper. Once you have the basics and start adding the flashier moves, you'll be the couple everyone watches on the floor. It's the most dramatic dance in the country repertoire, and one of the most fun to learn.

Your Instructor
Alexi is our lead instructor, trained in more than 25 dance styles, with Master Instructor credentials in many of them and Grand Master status in several. She has been teaching professionally since 2016 and has taught thousands of people. Whatever your level, she teaches to how you learn rather than to a syllabus, and she is at her best with people who have never danced before.
